Anime: The Best and Worst of 2014

With another year over, I figured I’d say a few words about anime that came out in the recent year. This post is mainly a summary of memorable anime I’ve seen this year, starting with my favourites!

The Best

5: Noragami 7/10

This one didn’t grab my attention right away, but eased me into it after a few episodes. Only had time for a couple of arcs, but good ones at that. In finishing Noragami, you get that feeling that you’d like to see some more. Unfortunately, no second season in sight. It was good while it lasted.

For the Future

It’s no secret I haven’t been very present in the blogosphere for the past few months. Lack of motivation and the fact that I haven’t been watching anime are the reasons for that. The absence of anime in my life has driven me to the point where I’ve been questioning my own identity, and the only right conclusion and solution to this is that I have to get back into it. University and other life-things has gotten in my way for too long, and now I intend to take back what is the passion in my soul: anime & writing.

Some of the posts I’m planning to type up in the near future include an in-depth reflection of why we “grow out of anime” (and if there is even such a thing), Top 15 anime, Best and Worst of 2014, Steins;Gate review, Tsundere analysis, Winter Season 2015, Mirai Nikki (more like ugh), a long rant on FFXIII, and the list goes on. I hope that all my readers will return to the blog in 2015 to read my awesome opinions and argue their own!

Other than that, I hope you all had a great Christmas and I wish you a happy, wonderful new year!

Additionally, winter anime I’m curious about and likely to try:

  • Aldnoah.Zero 2
  • Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu Love!
  • Death Parade
  • Kuroko no Basket 3
  • Whatever else is hyped

This is why SAO sucks

I never did make a review on Sword Art Online, because I felt like everything I wanted to say had already been said by other people. Writing my opinion on it would be redundant (I thought at the time). But I have since had a change of heart, after running into a certain someone at Anime & Games Society. This particular individual managed to insult me quite deeply by stating that the reason I didn’t like the anime must be because I don’t play video games myself. I didn’t speak to him any more at the time, but he led me to ponder for some time after. Firstly, he was wrong (on so many levels), because SAO is nowhere near a great anime, right? Secondly, can you enjoy a show even if you don’t know its context to real life?

In this first post, out of two, I’ll be covering these questions. Starting off by explaining why SAO isn’t a great anime. (THERE WILL BE SPOILERS).

Fall 2014 First Impressions

I’m a bit late for this but here’s what I thought about fall anime! Only picked 4 titles this season, because, well, it’s hard to care about watching anime when you’re a star-crossed lover. (Yep, I’m totally head over heels with my course). I’ll be focusing on backlog instead of currently airing shows until Christmas at least, then I’ll see if more new anime will interest me next year. I won’t stop blogging though!

Everything About Wolf Children That Brought Me To Tears

Wolf Children resonated really well with me. I can’t remember the last time a movie had me bawling my eyes out. By the way, there will be spoilers.

Not so first post

Hello everyone!

If you’ve been on this blog before, you might have noticed the dramatic change in looks, and the fact that all my posts are gone. Yep, my mistake. I’m working on potentially retrieving them, but for now I can’t promise anything. However, from now on I’ll continue blogging about anime n stuff.

If you’ve never been in this blog before, welcome! I write stuff about anime.

Coming up is going to be a fall season impression, it’s just I have to watch some fall anime first. But I’m getting there.

That’s it for now, I’ll be back as soon as I can!
